Yesterday I spent 2 hours out of the office eating 3 pieces of falafel. Gorgeous looking falafel I have to say. But that’s about it. A colleague’s farewell lunch at Exmouth Market ended up at the Mediterranean Sade.
Friday night was Mexican night. My friend and I decided to check out the Soho scene and picked El Camion after a fair amount of research and menu comparing! I have to admit it wasn’t our first preference, but we could reserve a table there, unlike at a number of other places in the area. The website gave off a friendly and relaxed vibe, and we were looking forward to a good night out.
We decided to ring in the New Year with fondue! Now I adore a cheese fondue, but haven’t attempted one at home before. So when some Amazon vouchers came my way a couple of months ago, guess what I went and spent them on? That’s right. A lovely set. Finally.
I picked Matsuri for a farewell dinner with a friend last night. And am I glad I did! Tucked away in quiet Bury Lane, with a very unassuming entrance, it's easy to miss Matsuri, unless you're looking for it. The dining area is decorated simply and elegantly, with Japanese fans and paintings adorning the walls and teppanyaki tables curving around the large open floor. For a Saturday night, Matsuri was unsurprisingly packed, but surprisingly not noisy at all!
