As part of my epic food travelling holiday in India last year, I spent a few very tasty days in Mumbai. I went back to Mumbai last week to spend a little more time with family and to eat a little more of course. Following my trip, I have to add two more food stops to my list of top 10 street foods of Mumbai from last year!
Keema pav at Toto's Garage Bar.
A bar is the last place you'd probably think of ordering a keema pav. The only reason this happened was that we bumped into my friend's colleague (also a Toto's regular) at the bar, and he insisted we get a plate for ourselves. He's been frequenting Toto's for the last decade, knows all the waiters like he does his best friends, knows exactly which song will be playing at what time on any given day of the week (the sequence and CDs haven't changed in the last 10 years apparently!), and therefore wasn't to be argued with. That keema pav was the most delicious I have ever eaten. And I have to admit, it went beautifully with my Old Monk and coke.
