Review - The Diner, Ganton Street, Soho

Wow, it's been a while since I wrote a review. Things have been quite manic the last few months, and they're finally settling down now. Just in time too, with summer around the corner, and lots of chilling out to do!

The Diner cropped up on my list of places to eat at last month when I was researching potential dinner venues for my husband's birthday. I thought a diner would be nice and relaxed, and quite up his street, food wise. Giant portions of greasy food, tall glasses of shake, and huge desserts. I picked The Diner because it had the most generous menu of all the diners that came up in my research. That birthday plan fizzled out, though.

Review: Pix Pintxos, Covent Garden, London

So I'm back in my old contracting job, and I'm as happy as can be :) One big reason being it's in Covent Garden, so when it comes to food, I'm spoilt for choice! We had our team Christmas lunch just down the road from work, on Neal Street. A tapas bar called Pix Pintxos. It was great!

A taste of the sea at Fishworks, Swallow Street

What an absolutely gorgeous meal! Sorry, I had to cut straight to the chase there. Well actually, more straight to the attack :) Most Londoners who enjoy seafood have probably already been to this gem. I've only recently chosen to stop being vegetarian, and have discovered a great love for seafood, so this meal was an absolute treat.

Review: Beijing Dumpling, Chinatown, London

I think I've been to Beijing Dumpling more times than I have to any other restaurant in London! Thrice. And that's saying a lot, given I'm one of those people who firmly believes that life's too short in proportion to the amount of good food there is to try in this world, to go to the same place twice. But I adore Beijing Dumpling, so there you'll find me, every few months. Besides, I really like the vibe in Chinatown - always so festive.

Review: CJ's Cafe, Acton, London

I've walked past CJ's Cafe almost everyday for the last 3 years and I've never noticed it. Bizarre, I know. I like to tell myself, however, that maybe it hasn't been there for 3 years. I shall find out the next time I visit. I'm definitely going back. Not just because the food was great, the service friendly, and the whole ambience chilled out, but because it's 2 minutes from home.
