What an absolutely gorgeous meal! Sorry, I had to cut straight to the chase there. Well actually, more straight to the attack :) Most Londoners who enjoy seafood have probably already been to this gem. I've only recently chosen to stop being vegetarian, and have discovered a great love for seafood, so this meal was an absolute treat.
I think I've been to Beijing Dumpling more times than I have to any other restaurant in London! Thrice. And that's saying a lot, given I'm one of those people who firmly believes that life's too short in proportion to the amount of good food there is to try in this world, to go to the same place twice. But I adore Beijing Dumpling, so there you'll find me, every few months. Besides, I really like the vibe in Chinatown - always so festive.
I've walked past CJ's Cafe almost everyday for the last 3 years and I've never noticed it. Bizarre, I know. I like to tell myself, however, that maybe it hasn't been there for 3 years. I shall find out the next time I visit. I'm definitely going back. Not just because the food was great, the service friendly, and the whole ambience chilled out, but because it's 2 minutes from home.
There's a National Burger Day I had no idea about till earlier this week! So while the pubs and cafes and restaurants and burger joints were fighting it out for hungry customers, we decided to make our own. Here's my mushroom burger recipe :)
The sea makes me hungry, just like the mountains do. Or maybe it's a holiday that makes me hungry. Either way, 40 degrees and 80% humidity notwithstanding, Goa was all about biking from one beach shack to another, lolling under umbrellas with beers, lemonades and books, and tucking into some gorgeous food. There were some dreadful meals too, but let's not talk about those. Here's my favourite Goa shack food from my trip a few months ago! f you ever visit, which I'm sure you will, give these a go.
